WELCOME!

I am currently seeing clients in person in the Los Angeles San Fernando Valley as well as via telehealth. As a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #134875), I am supervised by Tali Catz, LMFT #90927. My education includes a Masters in Clinical Psychology from Antioch Univerity, with a Specialization in LGBTQIA+ Affirmative Therapy. For the past couple of years, I have worked with young adults as a clinician at COLORS LGBT Youth Counseling Services in Culver City, CA. Prior to entering the therapy world professionally, I had my own practice as a Somatic Life Coach for 4 years. I spent my undergrad in the previous millennium earning a B.F.A. in Theatre from Millikin University and then was a working actor in Chicago (where I grew up) and LA for some time. I am also a certified yoga, meditation and mindfulness instructor and practitioner and I incorporate these tools into my work with clients as is helpful.

A bit more about me…

As is true for many, my own journey of healing is what set me on the path toward entering the healing arts as a profession. Trauma, oppression, and growing up in systems that discouraged and suppressed my whole truth created a deep fragmentation within me. I ended up exiling parts of myself that often screamed to be brought back into the fold of TRUTH within me. I worked hard to maintain the persona that came from this fragmenting of self and lived in a consistent state of suffering for decades of my life.

It was a gifted therapist who helped me get back in touch with these banished parts. Slowly, I began to welcome them back into the fold and to re-member who I was. This path is what I am called to… it is a process I continue to engage in for myself and it is a process that I invite you into for yourself.

As a therapist, I am here to bear witness to your journey and assist you along the way. This journey of re-membering takes its own shape and texture for each person. I understand the reality that each of us is uniquely molded and affected by many different intersections of life experiences, identity, systems and environments. My work is largely integrative, and as we witness these life intersections together, the best methods and modalities of healing will make themselves known.

I believe in the strength of your own intuitive healing compass that will guide you further toward taking agency over the trajectory and shape of your powerful life. I work with my clients to uncover what this means for each of them, as individuals who are made up of many parts, and as individuals who are part of a larger whole. It is an artful journey that is ever-unfolding and welcoming of what it finds in the here and now.

Other things that may matter to you…

  • I proudly identify as a queer lesbian. I came out later in life because I was, quite literally, scared of going to hell. I have healed deeply from the religious trauma I experienced as a closeted queer woman and am passionate about providing competent, informed therapy and assistance to all of my kin in the queer community.

  • I believe there are some systems in the world we live in that are inherently oppressive (patriarchy, racism, colonialism, heterosexism, ableism, and transphobia - to name a few) that need to be dismantled - both at the systemic level within us and in the society within which we live. I understand that we are all profoundly affected by these systems, especially those who are the targets of such oppression. Liberation and social justice are foundational to my practice.

  • I am a mother - both adoptive and biological. I also know the pain of miscarriage.

  • I am a breast cancer survivor.

  • I have my own therapist. (I believe a KEY to being a good therapist is knowing you need help yourself.)
